Team building and team effectiveness training workshop for Bulawayo City Councillors and Administrators.

 

Protocol, Business etiquette, Grooming and Deportment, Leadership skills, Conflict resolution, Diplomatic practice and International Relations are critical in the running of personal, local and International Business. The world is experiencing massive cultural diffusion due to globalization and it is a prerequisite that leaders in every facet are equipped with soft skills. It is against this background that the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy conducted a 2-day training workshop from Thursday, the 12th of October to Friday the 13th for the Councillors and Administrators for the City of Bulawayo. The City of Bulawayo is committed to deliver Municipal Services in the most efficient manner possible and maintain communication with its citizens and customers. The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy offered a training program in line with the aims and mandate of the Bulawayo City Council. The training in the ‘red hills’, Zvishavane was facilitated by Mr. V. A. Chikanda, a renowned academic and consultant on contemporary diplomacy and international relations, customer service, grooming and deportment, business and social etiquette and diplomatic, corporate and social protocol. The City Councillors and Administrators were given lectures on team building, to further promote collaboration and cooperation with each other. In addition to team building, the Institute also delved into the importance of leadership skills and business protocol, lectures which the participants agreed would be beneficial for their work. About 40 Councillors attended the training workshop, which was mainly focused on a plethora of topics which included Diplomatic Protocol, Business Etiquette, Grooming and Deportment, International Law, International Relations, Diplomacy and Diplomatic practice.
